Default ECU flexibility?

looking at uprating my TMIC, should i remap? currently running prodrive map and a panel filter with prodrive exhaust.

anything to be gained power /reliability wise by uprating the TMIC, and how much with the ECU compensate?

no you wouldnt need a remap if you upgraded the tmic and nor would you see any gains in bhp from this. you would be helping the cooling process a little. the stock 1s are good enough unless you have under gone a engine rebuild (forged pistons etc)then you would need a fmic really to cope with the exterame change in boost, bhp etc. imho you stock 1 is fine handling your current set up, but its still nice to upgarde as its just 1 of the things we do in making the car are own.

sorry 2003 blobeye, prodrive setup.

just wondered if an uprated one would improve torque or bhp?
obviously apart from that, it will help cooling the intake charge, improving efficiency.
if its likely to be negligible though i'll just save my dollar!

Sti or wrx?

The sti tmic is the best tmic out there imho better than any after market tmic.

As has been said you will gain v little without having it mapped to take advantage of the better tmic.
