mobil1 0-40w
i have a new tub of this in my garage dont know why or where it came from. i have my97 uk turbo standard i potter about in it most of the time and do get hevey footed often. i always warm the car brfore it moves and cool it down for a least 3 mins before i shut it off.
so would this oil be ok to use in my car or should i flog it. i dont want to start another 1 of those oil depates tho lol
i have always used 10-40w shell helex and its been fine but should i change now winters on its way fast?

Actually the answers given on one side are very well reasoned but I have always used Vauxhall 10W40 semi for the last 60,000 miles, changed every 5000 miles with a pattern filter. My MY97 is just past 155,000 (slappy) miles and the big ends should go anytime now.
