I wouldnt say its essential with them modifications but it would be better all round if you did get it remapped. You will gain a few bhp and torque and it will be more fuel efficient too

For cat-back(which is centre pipe and backbox) you will be fine without remap and you don't need remap.
But for power increase if you want i recommend you buy decat downpipe and upipe and after this you go on remap, and after this you will see increase in power.
Again if you want put just panel filter(no induction kit) you don't need remap.

LOL, welcome to the slippery slope.

E-mail Bob Rawle at BRD, or Duncan at Dynamix, or JGM off here and ask.

will i get any power increase with the exhaust and panel filter alone i was thinking of the exhaust basicaly just for a better sound than the standard sti one i have now which is very quiet so will just replacing the backbox without the centre section make any difference

Hi mate just buy for beginning catback from Cobra(nosiest is i think Cobra RaceBox),i think you have resonated centre pipe, which will "cut" noise from exhaust/backbox

I've got the Tornado 2 cat-back on mine bought from scoobyparts,by no means quiet but bearable on long journeys. I find it just right nice rumble on tickover and sounds sweet on boost.

3" bore is slightly louder as 2.5",but for everyone is louder something different.
I have Blitz Nur Spec R which for everyone is loud, but for me is still quiet, just look on Youtube for Nur Spec and you will see....

IIRC "Butty" on here had a Spec D of that vintage which he modded a bit ... Have a search for one of his posts and give him a PM.......always very helpful
