Default Reving Problem

I have a 2003 plate impreza wrx. I have a had it for a week or so and i have noticed a reving problem.

When i change gear (usually under load) it will kick up approx 500 rpm before it drops. Can anyone advise to what might be causing this?

Cheers,
Angus

Slighty notchy clutch pedal sticking momentarily after lifting off?

Perhaps a good dose of WD40 followed by some 3-in-1....?

hi ... i to have noticed this when driving the blob eye, and alot of new cars do this too... its call throttle dampning and basicly imho the system cant prodict when you are about to depress the clutch to change gear so you get the rpm hang (helps engine braking).. also it does this in order to help protect the cataylists...
i wouldnt worry about it at all
