Default Another "what on earth is this" question

Afternoon all.

I have just removed a pair of these stainless / hard rubber aftermarket parts from the underside of my car, as can be seen fitted below (parts in red at the far, front of car):



And here is one off the car:

Fitting ALK, the mounts needed clearance and this stopped me fitting them. I could put them on in a few minutes, but I wont bother if I dont need to

THEY JUST LOOK LIKE SOME KIND OF WIND deflectors fella, Cant see them doing much really

Thats what I thought, or perhaps stone / water deflector. If I knew exactly what they were, I would look into how effective other people have found them to be.
