my pulley on my 95 impreza came loose and threw the alternator belt the aa came out and tightened the pulley and refited the belt it ran for a few seconds and done the same thing agian,is there a chance that the pulleys inside is out of shape from were it worked its way loose the first time and all i need to do is replace the pulley or could the end of the crankshaft in which the pulley slides on is buggered any help is appreciated im hoping its just a worn crankshaft pulley.
Check the condition of the keyway in the end of the crank and check that its actually there. It may be that just needs replacing.
Have a look at the threads of the bolt for any swarf or damage.
If the crank is buggered its a full strip down job to sort properly.
