crankshaft pulley help

Default crankshaft pulley help

my pulley on my 95 impreza came loose and threw the alternator belt the aa came out and tightened the pulley and refited the belt it ran for a few seconds and done the same thing agian,is there a chance that the pulleys inside is out of shape from were it worked its way loose the first time and all i need to do is replace the pulley or could the end of the crankshaft in which the pulley slides on is buggered any help is appreciated im hoping its just a worn crankshaft pulley.

Check the condition of the keyway in the end of the crank and check that its actually there. It may be that just needs replacing.

Have a look at the threads of the bolt for any swarf or damage.

If the crank is buggered its a full strip down job to sort properly.

are the keyway part of the pulley or crank and is it easy to remove the key way

anyone no were i can get a pulley on a sunday even obvoiusly 2nd hand oem or lightwieght in essex area thanks.
