Default Ported Heads & Cams

Recently I was offered to purchase the above for my scoob. On reflection I am wondering if it is possible for me to have my current heads (that are on the car) ported? Where can I get this done (i'm in essex), whats the benefits of having it done? (I have a 2litre forged bottom end) and what cost could I be looking at?

Thanks

I would contact Paul Finch @ Finchmotorsport. He's in Northampton, contact details on his website.

I was hoping for about 450bhp, i've got a set of version 2 sti heads - should i just fit them to the block, should i change the cams in them and if so - what cams would be best?

If you're running a 92->98 car, then the best standard heads to fit are V3 Sti items.

Porting the castings and fitting aftermarket cams with a sensible profile will improve airflow (and power/torque), but as mentioned above it's not really necessary under 500hp, and better to spend your money elsewhere, on other required upgrades

Best to junk the version 2 heads and get version 3 or 4 STI items for your target. They go for about £400 - £450 for a good pair.
