never had any problems with the EGT and its always had decat up-pipe and downpipe then just recently it keeps throwing up the cel light when at a steady speed on the motorway clear the code wont happen again for weeks maybe can you remove the EGT sensor completely and use a resistor to stop the cel coming on ? look forward to hearing replys

 

Just unplug it, EGT getting high due to de-cat

Depending on MY of car you may have to fit a resistor or get the map tweeked.

 

MY02 bug eye never had this issue before dont understand why i have now.
Could i just unplug it - or will i need to fit a resistor - either way can i remove it out of the exhaust and blank the hole.

I think on that MY you need to fool it with a resistor or get it remaped to put the light out
