Default RE-map question

hi fellas iam thinking about getting a remap after sorting a lil issue out first (thread"what else to check"). i have a my97 uk 2000turbo and by the time i come to get it mapped i will have fitted a s.s up pipe +down pipe apart from the d.v that was already on the car when purchased and a s.s back box its standard. the car pulls 1.1-1.2 bar of boost already. and i believe that is the standard figure.
well how much should i expect to pay for a remap? and with both ss up+down pipe what sort of figures will i achieve from a remap. i live in a town called kings lynn NORFOLK so also can any1 recommend somewhere for me pls
thank you fellas

If your MY97 UK Turbo 2000 AWD is making 1.1-1.2bar then it suggest's your TD04L is already maxed out at around 280bhp already!

Std figure is more like 0.7-0.8bar for your car, I believe - do you have any kind of bleed valve fitted? Maybe a previous owner has already mapped it on an Apexi PFC or something? (std ECU is non mappable at the mo - but I think it's almost imminent via ESL hardware...). I'd check under the bonnet for a bleed valve and in the passenger footwell for any kind of non std ECU or other electronic gubbins....

You would need an aftermarket ecu, something like a power fc or simtek as the standard ecu cannot be remapped.
I don't know what sort of power you'd get so hopefully someone can help out there but my import 98 sti produced 320/300 with a full decat system, a green panel filter and a power fc.
I don't know any mappers in norfolk but heres a couple that may be within travelling distance for you.

well i did wonder why when i drive my mates 2003 wrx blobeye it seams to be so much slower than my97. i will look a the ecu tomoz but what should the standard 1 have on it so i can tell the difference between the 2. and where would i find this bleed valve situated

Post up picks of the ECU and outlying area of it - should be enough to suss. I f not, then post up pics of the inside by taking its lid off.

If you post a pic up of the whole of the engine bay that should be enough to see a bleed valve or MBC valve. If not, then post up close ups of around the driver's front turret/turbo area...
