The seal can go in the boot, or it could be one of the door seals, can be common with agae, the rubber goes hard and leaks

There are a few places, rear lights, boot seal, boot spoiler mounts or the dreaded rotten lower rear window frame.

Strip the boot out and get the Mrs to lock you in it with a torch (make sure she's in a good mood though), then get her to turn the hose pipe on it. You should see where it's leaking in from.

I think you are joking, but don't use silicone.

Sikalastomer 710, its not easy to find in the shops, however it can be bought by mail order.

If you can't find it Carafax Caraseal is good, should get that from Lincs Caravans. That said i used roof & gutter repair sealant from Focus to reseal my rear light when i changed them back to OE, been dry ever since

As above, don't use silicon, you need to use a non setting sealant.

If it's leaking though the back lights, it should be fairly noticeable.

Elsewhere it's a bit trickier. Is your parcel shelf wet?

Don't bother, just swap the pump for the one from later cars.

I know a few people who have either changed the O ring themselves or had it done, and they've started leaking again not much later.

Aii, these V1's are getting on a bit now mate, IMHO it's worth all the tlc to get um up to fitness, took me a few months before she was sorted. Don't rush into the power mods too quick. Take your time, it's well worth it

Skeg, sorry I totally forgot about the pump/res/pully assembly from a MY97-00 car, I offered you.

Do you still need it?

£39 plus P&P. I reckon P&P will be a fair amount, as it's is a heavy beast...
