Another one about turbos!!
I've been looking round for another turbo for my 99 T2000 AWD and see there are a lot of choice depending on what you want to gain.
I'm looking at around the 320/320 mark and thinking of the vf28. I already have full 3" decat, cold air induction and ECUTEC remap and running 273/273 (roughly).
My main question is, are the vf28 repairable as i know some of the vf series is not. I have found a cheap one with play in shaft.
Also (from people with experiance) is there maybe another option i should go for?
Thanks H

A cheap one with play in the shaft will work out dearer than buyin one in good nic. I got my afp td05-20g reconditioned and it was £300 for parts and labour and that was without a compressor housing. if yours has play in shaft it might need a housing. I dont know how much parts are for ihi turbos.Look to pay a couple of hundred quid for a decent one. You should look for a sti turbo from a 98, they are vf23, mine made 340hp and spooled low down, i have a vf 23 but its not for sale.
