Exclamation SLIP-JOINTED EXHAUSTS..???

Are slip-jointed exhausts any good?

Are there any weaknesses to them e.g. do they blow, etc.?

Are the U-bolts strong enough to keep the sections clamped and preventing the sections from sliding apart/out, etc.?

No problems with mine , Mikalor clamp at the front & wire tied at the rear, no blowing as yet & afaik slip joints give a slightly smoother flow.

Depends

My GSXR has an Akrapovic system which uses slip joints and they chuff ever so slightly, then the bit that bolts to the can is slip jointed and i had to use a 300+ degree silicone to cure the leaking
on my old car, again, i had to use alot of exhaust paste as the joints blew a tad,all depends on how good the make is really, you might be lucky,as the above poster is

The u clamps are more than strong enough to keep the system together
