Last week my 1999 scoody was making a noise under the bonnet, thought it was the water pump so i went straight to the garage to get it sorted as i was driving there the car just cut out and had to get toe,d back home. later it turned out that my cambelt had slipped and moved around 5 teeth...(not good) was hopeing that there was not that much damage but as luck wasnt on my side the engine is knackered.
anyway after boring you with the story i just wanted to no is there anymore power in a ej20 WRX 2002 engine which i bought to replace the broken one?

Pretty similar and if your 99 is a uk car they will be using the same turbo, Its many of the ancinaries and ecu that will alter power output the engines are pretty much the same. So by putting in a 2002 block etc there is no power gain

ofcourse you could put a bigger turbo on while you have it out and have a remap, Although you dont say what spec the 99 is?

 

it had a STI V2 ENGINE FITTED AROUND 3 YEARS AGO BUT DONT NO WHAT TURBO WOULD HAVE COME WITH THAT? WHAT TURBO SHOULD BE USED FOR THE EJ20 ENGINE?
AS YOU CAN TELL IAM NEW TO THIS.
WHAT DO YOU THINK IT WOULD RUN AT, IS GOT A FROUNT MOUNTED INTERCOOLER ASWELL!

 

Turbo depends entirely on the model ,various turbos are fitted to the ej20 dependand on model, uk or jap car and the year> and ofcourse anything in the mean time could have been fitted> the only way to tell is read the numbers from the turbo

a 99 uk would have had a td04 from factory.
