Engine management light problem

Please Please Please, can any one help

I have had the Idle control unit replaced on my 52 plate Bug eye Impreza due to the engine management light coming on, and the subsequent code being left.

Yes you've guessed it, the light still comes on. In fact its been on and off more than a *****'s knickers, the control unit was replaced under warranty which came with the car. My local Subaru garage have done as much as they can, but the warranty company wont pay them to keep looking for something they cant find.

On newer models after a code has been received, the workshop manual will give you hint as to the problem before the fault code. Of course anything before 03 does not, so the actual problem could originate from anywhere.

Has anyone had a similar problem, or have a clue as to where I might start looking to sort this out...
