Question

Hi,
The engine on my UK300 Sept 2001 6500 miles stills seems very tight. Toodling around town or crawling thru roadworks in 4th gear is impossible at 30mph, the engines judders and I have to change to 3rd. Has anyone else had this problem?

Forgive my ignorance, but why would you want to be in 4th gear at 30mph? Shouldn't you be hovering about in 2nd, just waiting to launch it up to 60 at the next available opportunity?!

The handbook says (well for my MY00 anyway ) that you should change up at 1-2nd 15mph 2-3rd 25mph 3-4th 35mph 4-5th 45mph, but 4th at 30 is a little low (unless you have a decat system, dp etc and then the turbo comes in earlier )

Should be OK. I've a UK300 (with PPP), a bit restless at 30mph in 4th but does it. If the limit is 30mph, then I use 5th, and then its a monumental task for it to go above 30mph, helps me keep to the speed limit if I am not concentrating (otherwise it creeps up), no juddering though. Jen.
