Default subaru sti ra help?

Hi guys, im looking at joining the scooby scene, and just wanted to ask a couple of questions before i buy one that im interested in.

The guy states the car is a 1996 SUBARU impreza STI V-limited type RA but its in blue? From what i have read up these were only made in white?

Also if the engine is a genuine red top is there anything that i can easily look for to say for sure it is,

If im wrong about the above then please shoot me, but i just want to make sure.

thanks for any advice

Engine isn't really a red top as that's a Vauxhall the inlet manifold is just painted red.

Ask him for the Applied Model Code on the VIN plate and compare to this list

OP, if it's the car the bloke states, then I believe, as well as being Sonic Blue, it should have a roof vent and Special Edition badging/interior plaque.

Also, if a:-

MY96 Type RA STi Version II V-Limited, model code = GC8C4DD

MY97 Type RA STi Version III V-Limited, model code = GC8D4DD
