Default intermitant boost problem

can anyone help me, i have a 54 reg impreza wrx turbo, and i have an intermittant turbo problem. every now and again whilst driving, the turbo will not cut in, or it cuts out whilst driving. when it happens it does not bring on any engine lights and the car seems uneffected, it just has no boost. there are no rattles coming from the engine when it happens, and the fault clears itself again with no action from me after about 10 minutes or so.

i am completly stuck on what to do, so if anyone has any advice it would be greatly apprechiated.

many thanks
Chris

have you checked for a any split boost hoses as it sound like you could have a boost leak or even a sticky boost solinoid

hi thanks for your advice, i have not checked for hose splits as i thought if the pipe was split it would happen all the time, this may not be the case, so i will definitly check that, also this is the first scooby i have had, so i dont know where the boost solinoid is, but if it is sticking can it be repaired or will it need replacing.

thanks chris
