Default speedo cable?

recently done the clutch on my96 wrx and speedo has stopped working, now all is fine g/box end but im intruged to know is it just a push fit up the top (ie the square drive? the cable was on the floor the next day i went out to the car lol) so my guess is its not pushed in properly, thats where the problem lies....can you get at it up top or is it a case of firking around if you get what i mean?!

thanks. dale.

yes the cable is a push on sqaure drive onto the clocks. the easiest way to get it onto the clocks is to remove the panelunder the steering wheel and then get your arm up the back. taking the clocks out makes it more difficult IMO.
