Smile Fresh import question.

Hi all considering getting a fresh import from SVA Imports, it would be a verion 5 or 6 sti. My question is what should I do to it to make it safe for uk fuel I know it needs to be mapped but what would my options and cost be ? thanks in advance.

Get it checked on a rolling road/dyno, run it only on v-power/99ron fuel. If nessasery get it remaped for uk fuel. Fit an uprated fuel pump

V5 STi is well known for exploding engines. Get it remapped as soon as it lands in the UK ... £300-500 ish. It'll need a SVA test too won't it which will cost quite a bit ie convert over to UK running?

Think you may find that £3-500 figure is a little on the optimistic side. £5-600 probably the ballpark, depending on who you choose.

You will also need to ensure that there is a rear fog light fitted and that the speedo has been converted to MPH (and calibrated), if neither has been done then your car isnt road legal in the uk.
(you will also need a minimum of a cat 2 alarm system fitted, again if not then it does not meet the requirements given for ANY imported car)

My version 5 is running on the std ecu and map on vpower and is running fine with only a hks hi power exhaust. Had it checked on the dyno and all ok. The dyno run cost about £70 but it was worth it for peace of mind. I've just bought an Apexi pfc which I'll get mapped when funds allow
