quieter 3" bore exhaust
hi all
This has probably been asked before...... Can anyone recommend a quieter 3" bore exhaust than an HKS Hi Power thats on my sti 5.
Maybe im getting old but I cant hold a conversation with the missus (bonus) when speeds get above 65mph. I dont want to loose power as the cars mapped by andy forrest on a 3" system.
around town its great, a proper noise for a fast car. However motorways an dual carriageways its just too much. It Booms an drones.

Give Matt @ Exhaustsuk a call and ask about their Cobra track day system. I swapped over to that in order to lower the overall sound and means I can take it to places like Bruntingthorpe as they have noise restrictions. It certainly works as I would not have been able to achieve 631.2 bhp!

thought about the bung idea mate, had one in my ninja 1 back box on my 98 classic an it didnt feel right. Was quieter but the bung effect didnt appeal when I was driving. Suppose I cant get the best of both worlds!!
The HKS Hi power is angled an hangs lower as well and often gets scrapped on speed bumps and ramps into car parks as its sitting V Low on tein coilovers.
Think ill get a revolution cat back...... or save money get a bung an raise the ride height.
I used to be in decisive, now im not so sure!

i've just put a revolution cat back on and its got a nice sound but is also quiet. Did a 50 mile run on A roads yesterday with little-un in back and it was sensible, sounded as quiet as the prodrive exhaust on my last car. Would defo recommend

+ 1 for speaking to ExhaustsUK.com - I have the track system as well. Speced mine as a 3" de-cat system, with 4.5" slash cut tail.
Looks awesome and sounds fantastic. Nice low scooby burble, but not so loud that it gives you a headache. Really, really chuffed with mine, plus, their customer service is excellent

cheers guys
now im even more indecisive.
does the miltek system fit to any aftermarket downpipe or would I need the full Milltek from the turbo back?
Think the revolution system sounds the best bet, is it a 3" bore though?
