Default bottom end build

ive managed to buy a very clean and tidy 98 turbo wago in black but with bottom end knock so just after some advise on what to do, ive got my brother in law whos a top good mechanic(dannyalan), and we're gonna rebuild it, ive never done a scoob engine and were just wondering best way to go about we're thinking new big ends and reground crank but is there any thing else we should think of or a better idea, gonna start to remove engine tommorow and hopefully get under way. many thanks, oh forgot to say its had top end build 3 months ago with headgaskets water pump cam belt etc
