Was going to buy some oil to use just in case I ever need to top up. Contacted my mate at Subaru and he says that the oil in my car is 10W40. Is this right????? I was always led to believe that turbocharged cars used 5w40 or 5W30 which I used to run in my old Cosworth?????
Car has dealer PPP fitted.

 

Can't believe you used 5/30 in a Cosworth!
A 5/40 full synthetic would be fine in your engine although the 10/40 (which I assume is semi-synthetic) is perfectly ok

trust me use 15w50 mobil1 motorport edition graham goode racing reccomends aswell ive been running my car on it for 4 years no probs 112000 miles expensive but worthit

 

I used to use Mobil 1, now I use Fuchs Silkoline 10/50w. Never had any problems with both of them.
