MAF maxed out - options?
My Q45 (90mm MAF) is on it´s limit of 5.05V now, is there any other bigger MAF I could use, or will I have to go the route of a MAP sensor using ECU?
At the moment I use the Apexi Power FC and the Apexi conefilter (turbo is a S206) and I think if I change the airfilter for a more free flowing K&N (as planned and filter is at my home already) I will see even higher MAF voltage and might not be able to run the max. boost of 1.9bar, isn´t it?
I use a steel inletpipe now, as before the Samcoinletpipe collapsed under high boost and during accellerating through the gears (e.g. dragrun).
Now it doesn´t spool up and always seems to have to overcome a pressuredrop during these dragruns as well, but when giving it a short time between shifting and accelerating again, it spools up rapid and fast, as it is expected to do in my opinion!
Or does this have to do with the recirculating BOV and the exhaustgas slowing the turbo down between the shifts?
Would the other airfilter help me in this case, even if I have to go down with boost a bit, to not max out the MAF, I might be faster due to faster spoolup between the shifts...
Thanks for your input!!!

can you re-scale the readings from maf...lots evos running 600bhp,used to be 400 till the "geeks" developed it ?
my recently purchased scoob runs over 500 bhp and has blow through maf[new age car/maf-mapped by andy f] sticking to the original ecu means reasonable start/idle/slow speed with factory knock control-even if the knock sensor had to be moved away from the rattly triple plate...

The Q45 is the same size of tube as the MY99/00 MAF, so a straight swap regarding the size.
So you mean I would have to use the MAF as a Blowtrew setup in the FMIC pipework before the trottlebody?
I heard that is not easy to tune and I doubt I will be able to do this myself.
A bigger MAF housing would fix the problem as well?
How much would a Simtek installed and mapped over here in Austria cost approximatly?

As said joz it fits straight on with wiring change.
You could do it in the inlet.
