Default Newbie ALARM IMMOBILISER FAULT HELP!!!

Hi All

I have the cars one day, drove the wrx home and drove to work
in the morning. When was parking up at home later got out and
opened the boot (manualy). Went to close the doors with the fob
and zilch happens. The alarm goes off and wouldnt stop. I tried the
fob and dead, NOTHING. So I tried starting the car etc, tried going
round the car to see if it would disalarm. Zero. So I closed the doors
manually and went local auto electrician to change fob key.
Still Nothing.

Its a 02 Reg - WRX - UK spec

Genuine key, with the words, Alpha Corp and COJ12 on back of key?

Any clues?

Please help!!!

Jay

There is a keypad by your right knee, in a small cubby hole.
IF you know the PIN, disarm using that. If you don't know the PIN, its not looking good.

Maybe the fob has lost its memory, if the battery comes out for more than a very quick change they tend to lose their memory and have to get reprogrammed, happened to me once and only cost a few £££ to fix when the thing fell apart in my pocket lol

It can be re-programmed yourself, providing you know the PIN or have a working key fob.

Lightbulb pin

Thanks for the fast responses!!

I havent taken the battery out yet, funny thing is I think it could be the battery as the central locking stop working and all lights dim? For a moment or two the fob worked again, as got an auto electrician to look at. He said try battery first then everthing else?

BTW wheres the best place to get a battery in Gloucester and what type? The one on the car says 005L

Any ideas from the gurus needed!

Peace Jay
