Wheels and tyres?
Can the Impreza run wheels that are staggered?? For example a 18"x9" wheel with a 255/35 tyre on the rear & 18"x8" wheel with a 235/35 front tyre?
I was told that a wheel set up like that would mess the diffs up?

It is bad for the center diff as they will not rotate at the same speed. It is even so bad that in the owner's manual it is recommended that you keep your tyres within a certain depth of each other. This means even running tyres with different wear is not the best idea.

However, 4WD porsche and Audi have staggered setups.
Thanks for the info Trev

I was unaware of the Porsche/Audi staggered setups, but from everything I have read on numerous Subaru forums/owner's manual, you are going to want to run the same wheel/tyre combo.
