I hope so mate the only door that locks when i press the central locking button on the alarm fob is the drivers one. and the key doesn't fit any of the locks on the car for some reason other than the ignition barrel, i tried this on my other 1998 uk turbo and thats the same maybe because both times i used the spare key??

Spare key/main key: both should be the same, and should unlock both doors manually. On my UK car, the driver's door unlocks all four, the passenger side, only itself.
If your key isn't working in either doorlock, you may have bought a car that's been stolen at one time and had the locks changed, or the ignition barrel changed for some reason.
Once you have sorted this problem, it MIGHT be worth your while seeing about a full set of locks and ignition barrel from a breakers. There was a set on e-bay recently.......

Just got the door open from the inside i hadn't pushed the locking button across lol the previous owner obviously used to lock the doors manually from the inside due to the central locking not working. I will probably strip all locks and ignition barrel fromt he uk turbo and fit them to the wrx import so that i then have 2 keys again. Do you know if they are compatible??
