Default Knock sensor

Hi can anybody tell me the location of the knock sensor on a my99 impreza JDM STI V5 engine? Any help appreciated Steve.

if im not mistaken its under the inlet manifold at the back of the block on the drivers side not the easiest to c or get to if you havent much mechanical knowledge.

The knock sensor is located at the back of the engine on the Passenger side




Torque setting for the retaining bolt is 24Nm

The torque is important, you can squash them quite easily.

They can sometimes be cracked even if you torque them correctly. If you have access to a lathe (or some accurately sized washers), that issue can be sorted easily so that the bolt head bears only on the metal core of the sensor and can't touch the plastic bit.
