Post What power could my re-build make?

Its a 1998 uk classic and i was just wondering what you people mite have achieved with similar specs as my re-build should be complete soon.

Spec:
EJ20

Open deck block
ACL Race bearings
Uprated crankshaft
Wiseco forged pistons
Eagle H beam conrods
Cometic head gaskets
ARP Head bolts
V3/4 STI cylinder heads (rebuild and skimmed)
Cylinders re-bored to suite pistons
light weight metal cam pulleys
lightweight fidanza flywheel
uprated oil pump
Walbro 255litres/min fuel pump
Denso 550cc injectors
Full stainless decat ninja exhaust
Front mount intercooler 3" tubing
Baileys dump valve
K&N induction kit
Apexi power FC ECU with hand controller
HKS turbo timer

Turbo - probably a new billet one that scoobyclinic can supply.

Was hoping for 400-450BHP???????

you will need bigger injectors than 550cc for what you were hoping and you will also need a good clutch and a strong gearbox like a 6 speed and fuel reg and 3" exhaust and so on

its easy getting to 400bhp but up to 450 + is alot harder to achive plus you then must think about brakes and suspension set up as a 400+ car is a hand full and needs the supporting mods

i agree, a 400bhp car with good brakes and suspension will keep up with a 450bhp car with standard items.

am i right in saying that 550cc injectors are rated to 400bhp?

good luck with the build mate

depends on the turbo but i think you will struggle for a genuine 400hp

About 300bhp unless you want to replace the rest of your car?
Brakes will need upgrading, gearbox wont last long, neither will the clutch, so add another 4-5k for all that lot if you want more power out of it reliably.

Are you going 2 ltr or 2.1 ltr stroker as there are some good offers on 2.1 strokers at the moment

Staying as a 2.0 litre mate and has already been assembled, have some supporting mods already, AP racing 4pot front brakes and twin pot rear brakes, no suspension upgrades as yet and gearbox upgrade not for a while due to funds. Have got a strong carbon clutch though which will handle the power/torque.

estimates on gearbox upgrades.........???

To answer your question the build you have can support over 400 easily with the right supporting mods.
