Air feed for classic
I have the standard air filter setup at the minute with just a panel filter fitted, the standard air feed goes from behind the headlight to the wing, surely this is just sucking in hot air from the engine bay as its nowhere near the front grill?
Is it worth removing this and running a proper cold air feed from front grill to the box in the wing? looks like there is room as i have a non aircon model

Doesn't make that much difference. Once the car is moving forward you get a lot of fresh flow coming into the bonnet through the front inlets. As thing stand, with standard headlights and rad, you'll have difficulty making a feed of sufficient diameter that runs direct to the grille.
Not to say that you can't improve on the standard setup a bit, but it'll be a lot of work for marginal to non-existent gains - and unless you have a method of monitoring inlet air temp, you'll have no idea whether you've achieved anything.
