Mudflap Material
How do.
Got a bit stung with some absolutely crap mud flaps off of a car being split and need some material to make new.
They were discoloured, none removable staining and different colour where the STi logo 'was'!
...oh well you live and learn, I'll use the brackets
So... I have been onto a plastics supplier I use and found that the more expensive motorsport material (begins with Kay) is Polyerethane.
..So I have a supplier.
The question I might get as is what hardness is the plastic... ie Shore figure..
Anyone know?
Cheers
Mark

google polyurethane shore? you'll might end up with a range of 30 - 80 or something though. You'd need to know precisely what it is, polyurethane covers a variety.

Haha,
Correct
...but the questions still stands...
Anyone know the Shore figure for Kaylan flaps??
If anyone has a bit, I can get it tested!
Correct
As hard as you like
Kaylan is available in a range of hardnesses, from 30° Shore A to over 80° Shore D. Which means it can be softer than a car tyre or harder than a golf ball.

Or pop to Ikea and use some of their place mats - there was a thread over on NASIOC IIRC about exactly this and they recommended Ikea - I bought some, just never got around to fitting them! (yes really!)

Well Ikea flaps fitted! they are a little grey.. feel free to come and have a laugh at NBO.
They are actually flexible chopping boards, the place mats have moulded lines in them.
They are not Polyurethane and may mark a bit, (Polyethylene? cant remember)
...they'll do till I get me Kaylan cheap!!
