Default bugeye wrx bhp?

Has anyone got a bhp figure for a standard bugeye wrx? after what I think was a disappointing RR session yesterday I am trying to benchmark against others to see where I need to go next.

Thanks

218bhp is the official figure, as far as I remember. What did you get, and what are your mods, if any?

It got to 200.7bhp, only mods so far are:
SIT TMIC with y piece
Prodrive back box
Pipercross air filter
Uprated mainifold and up pipe.

All a little disappointing as we have paper work saying a prodrive pack was fitted but obviously not the case now as we have looked at the ecu and there is no holigram plus the bhp should be higher with a prodrive

Now is the figure from the factory at the flywheel, and the rolling road at the wheels? Never done a rolling road so not sure, might be the answer though.

From what I heard yesterday there is a 15% difference between the wheels and flywheel.

My 200.7bhp was at the flywheel. Minus 15% makes it 170bhp at the wheels?

so if the stock 218 is at the wheels it would be c250 bhp at the flywheel.

either way mine would appear low.

218PS/215bhp is the official flywheel figure. A conservative 15% loss would mean only 182bhp at the wheels, so even that's significantly down from 200.7.

So I'd say the 200bhp IS the flywheel figure... just that it's a bit down from the 'expected' 215. Could be ineffective fans on the RR... or any number of variables. Even over inflated tyres can "lose" you bhp on a RR, etc, etc...

I am only down 15bhp from the claimed standard so really i am not to loose too much sleep, although I would have expected more given the minor mods.

It is also running just over .90 (bar) boost

What would people suggest next?.....now I know it has not got a prodrive ecu I am not too worried about loosing the ecu with a remap

I am thinking:
Remap
Boost control
Decat down pipe

Not sure about the order though.

Yeah, a 15bhp diff will be hardly noticable -- with it, at most it'd prob account for an ever so slightly keener acceleration.

However, 'normally' you'd expect a figure of c.5% difference either way i.e. more like anywhere between c.205-225bhp...

...Even if you had, you'd sell it first for decent wonga, and then fit a regular cheap replacement, ready for the EcuTek'ing...

rolling roads can basically give what figure you want to hear. 18hp loss in an old car is pretty good.

Less friction than correct or under inflated ones? No? Actually that's tripe isn't it. It's the force of the tyres exerting on the rollers (how well they're strapped down), that could affect the reading, right?

Common trick on dyno dynamics rollers is to add more pressure, this will reduce the rolling resistance and show higher WHP figures. With the way DD rollers extrapolate these WHP to flywheel figures, this can often add more to the flywheel figure too, where in reality there is no difference in the actual engine power.

Dastek rollers would account for this in the coast down losses.

Have you got the dyno graphs ?

The standard power is around 215bhp (flywheel) for a newage wrx. Some people believe that there is a set % for drive train losses but it is much more involved than that as that doesnt account for gearbox oil temp, tyre resistance, and any other saps on power through the system. That standard wrx would have somewhere in the region of 180 whp

hmm to the graph

looks like their set up of Ambient Temp and Intake Temps is slightly wrong giving false readings.

graphs looks normal albeit on the low side.
