Default Steering Wheel Airbag

How best is it to go about changing an airbag steering wheel on a impreza STI V5? Do I need to disconnect the battery or leave it connected & pull the fuse for the airbag or do both or is there another way of doing it? I will be replacing the airbag & wheel with newer version's of the original item. Any advice or a link on how to do it much appreciated.
Steve.

In my experience in disconnected the battery, but then I'm covered by dealer insurance policy. Generally disconnect the battery and wait 10 mins. I take it your swapping like for like? Be care full if your taking the steering wheel off not to let the clock spring rotate with out the steering wheel.
