yes a bit silicone pipe and replace the bend inbetween the maff and resonator box ,,,could do with taking the resonator out so you get the good sound ,,but a lot say its best to leave them standard ,, and take the air box off

From looking at the pictures Id guess that kit wouldnt fit. Your factory MAF housing is part of the air box (where that wire connects to the right side in picture 2)

You need something in the middle that goes between the cone filter and the intake pipe to hold the MAF sensor. Did the kit come with any other parts?

Look here - http://www.scoobyworld.co.uk/catalog...oducts_id=1296

You need something like the small black pipe in the top right of the K&N kit photo.

Ah my bad, it looks like the filter + adaptor fits on the end of the MAF housing, just noticed the bolts so the air box can be removed. I thought it was all one peice.

So yes, it should fit fine.

If you replace that 90-deg hose from MAF to resonator with a 45-deg silicone, then when you remove the airbox/panel filter for the cone filter, you just MIGHT get it to fit between the ABS and inner wing. Although the MAF might then not clear past the BCS/MAP/PES gubbins...???

As also said, you need a shallow bit of silicone hose and 2 jubilees to fix the filter's collar to the MAF flange adaptor (the silver square/round thing in your pic, that comes with the filter).

Indeed he has.

OP, ignore the bit about the filter-to-MAF silicone joiner hose in my previous post.

Or you could just not fit it ... as all it's going to do is cost you money and performance.
Sorry but it looks like a cheap crappy ebay kit that will kill your maf and ultimately your engine. IMHO.

Get yourself a green cotton panel filter, and if you want to have a play, extend the short ram/snorkel tubing to accommodate a cold air feed from the fog cover. Also remove the equally cheap and crappy looking dump valve and put the original back on.

Too many classics go bang cause people mod them using cheap ebay tat !

Agree wirh 53WRX,. That filter is a cheap underwhelming job and will prob rob power and upset airflow scaling for the MAF (prob for the worst, by leaning AFR out, unless scaled/mapped for). Not a wise move IMHO....

In any account the std airbox/filter (or an uprated panel) is good for around 350bhp anyway!..........

My96 WRX has this kit on it with a different cone filter;
http://www.hotfroguk.co.uk/Uploads/P...9637_image.jpg

Its the silver pipe bit that you need so you can remove your resonator box, put that pipe onto the end of the original flexi hose (connect up breather pipes), then you'll need some silicone pipe (approx 70mm long) to connect between the Apexi silver pipe and your MAF. Then put the top hat adaptor (and rubber seal) onto your MAF and locate the stabiliser bar (to the old mount for the old removed airbox on the chassis rail is a good place). Then simply put the cone on to the top hat, tighten the jubilee clip and your done.

Thats how that one goes on. Dunno if thats any help to you though Goodluck

...That you know of.....induction kits, DV, decats...changing fuel air ratios without telling the ECU ends in tears sooner or later, fact is panel filters and recirc DV's are better for a standard car...and with a little modification can be improved beyond any ebay budget and bodgit kit
