re-connect the lamba and get a new maf, what colour is the label on the side of it, it should be green, if so i have a spare 1 where do you live, i'm not saying that this is the problem but classics like yours do sufffer from MAF's going down and poor running of the car

It is difficult to work out what's going on from the symptoms you are describing. It is pointless trying to start and drive it without the airflow meter plugged in - that won't get you anywhere. If you've tried three different meters and you are 100% certain that at least one of them is 100% functional, then this suggests either a cabling issue or a fault within the ECU itself.
Given what you are saying about the other apparent electrical modifications to the car, it's going to be impossible for any of us here to assist you in diagnosing this in a worthwhile manner, because none of us has any baseline to work from.
Best thing you can do at this juncture is to tell us where you are so that someone local can point you in the direction of a good specialist.
