Could any on tell me if a 97 type r has a quick rack fitted?I have a 99 uk turbo and have the chance to get one of these. Would it be a quicker ratio than the rack I have or are they the same?

The rack on a uk car is 2.7 turns, the type r rack will be 2.5 turns.

Unless the type r is a limited it will have a fast rack, the sti ra will have a quick rack which will cost you a packet as they are rare as rocking horse poo, quick rack is faster than a fast rack (13:1 compared to 15:1)

So Tony has my Ver6 Type R WRC Ltd have a quick rack or the slower fast rack, it seems blemin slow compared to my Spec C!

 

Its a quick rack, all version 6 type R's have it, the new age ones seem to have more "feel" i think, maybe a little bit more weight makes up for it?
