Default What Oil?

I've done the usual, searched SN, googled, been on the API and ACEA, had a look at some .pdfs and have come away none the wiser. Even looked in the Handbook this time, so I know i'm after 10w-40.

Opie Oils suggest the fully synthetic Miller oil - seems to be the only one though.

Have also been considering the semi-synthetic Castrol Magnetc from Halfrauds.

My question is, which one do I get? Will the Mag mean particles stick to the engine, making future oil changes difficult? Price isnt really an issue, as an engine rebuild at ~ £2 - 3k is far more expensive.

It would be very helpfull if there was an oil sticky thread with what people use, and how they rate them, providing a valuable insite for other SN members.

I use millers 10/60 fully synthetic(summer use) and millers 10/50 in the colder months in a 98 sti with roughly 75k miles. I do the odd track day and car is used daily by my wife. I change the oil every 4500-5000 miles. I wouldnt use any other oil and at £45 for 5 litres its not that dear.

10/60 is too thick for a standard engine, stick to 5/40 or 10/40, any decent synthetic will be fine. (some people say magnatec can cause carbonising problems in the turbo)
