MY93 WRX - it has been using water occasionally recently, but only after being stood for a couple of days. The other day I noticed that water drips from somewhere near the bottom hose (although it isn't the bottom hose!) when I take the expansion tank cap off to check the water level. This only happens when the engine is switched off and stone cold. Over the past few days, the water level has barely dropped, despite the warm weather!

I know the obvious answer is not to take the expansion cap off, but why is it only leaking then, and not when the engine is running or hot?!?
