Whinning noise coming from the rear ov my wrx classic any ideas peps??
as above any ideas mwhat this whinning could be?ive jacked the car up and wiggled all the wheels and there was no movement at all so im thinking it aint the bearings so maybe the diffs on its way out....if you guys could help it would be apericiated.many thanks ian

i'v had the same problem with mine and it bugged me till yesterday when i found out it was my rear brake pad's that make that noise to warn you that they are shot, don't know if your's could be as simple but it may be worth a look, have you checked your dif oil for small bits of metal?
if not then that may be worth checking that as well.

When I read the title I thought it could be the same as mine. I get a whinning noise coming from the front passenger side whenever I give it the beans but it stopped when I dropped her off at her mothers.

could well be this as ive noticed a fuel smell from the rear of the car recently normaly as i stop its relly strong and it makes a loud buzzing noise but i thought this could be coz its hot at the mo.lol cheers for that mate

Book yourself into a speciallist and get them to have a look at it, they normally tell you pretty straight what is up, rather than guessing and ending up with a huge bill when it could be something as simple as low oil levels.

yeah i checked the tranny oil and its up to the full mark on the dipstick so wouldnt of thought it was low on oil?thanks ian
