Default Boost Issue?

I have a 93 wrx, it dont seem to come on full boost till 4k, ive been told theres a restrictor in one of the vac pipes and to take it out as this is whats causing it, is this true?

how does it run when it comes on boost is everything doing as it should? is your car an import? td05 16g turbos where fitted to the earlier wrx which in turn dont come onto boost until 3.5k then they are very lively

when it comes on boost it runs about 0.9-1.0 bar boost and dosnt hesitate or anything., it is a wrx import with a td05 16g, its just my m8 has a 93 type ra, same turbo and it seems to hit full boost at 3k, is this cause of the different cams the ra have have as standard?

there's a big difference between the wrx and ra shorter gear ratio its lighter etc your car sound fine m8 looks like you just want more ponnies after seeing how the ra goes
