help !!!! no power cel on
hi im new 2 scoobynet bought a 2000 turbo awd 98 (clasisic) a couple of month ago .after a month it started losing power 1 day it would be there the next it would be slow and would run lumpy when runin low on fuel so i changed the fuel filter and the oil was ok a for a few days. then it started again still had power off and on altho not as much as when i got ,altho did stop it from runin lumpy when low on fuel. then the cell came on i changed the plugs to see if that didnt any thing and reset ecu cel came back on after 5 mins or so so conected the black diginostic wires got 2 long pulse 4 short =24 right? which is the idile control valve could this be causing such a big power loss? also saw a bit of smoke from around the turbo area a month ago or so but by the time i walked over 2 look it had stopped and ive never seen any again. the car sounds fine just dosnt go anywhere quick at all any more not even off on turbo sounds like it is winding up its not drinking oil or overheating help!!!!!!!

Hi
You could take the car to a speciallist and get it looked at, it seems you have numerous faults and you dont really want that happening, if one fault gets too bad you could have a knock on effect and your just chasing your tail.
One important note, did you get the car inspected or serviced before/after you purchased it?

Reset the ecu (instructons can be found on here) and see if the error comes back, this will tell you if its just an old error or something that is current. Defo look at getting the ICV changed if it still errors.
The smoke from the turbo was mor than likely a bit of oil or crap which got onto the turbo and has burnt off now.
It sounds liek its going into limp mode, not sure if the detection of the ICV error would do this but i guess it could.
