Default engine trouble!!!

i jus got a 1994 wrx drove it 4 a couple hours and i think its either siezed or cambelt has broke,if i get a new engine,what year can i get 1 up to ie is a1998 model the same?? help

Sorry to hear your havin problems, you need to check & see whats happened then suss your options, you may be lucky with belt failure its usually worth slapping another one on & turning it over to see what happens.. if its seized it wont turn over obviously....

Ebay is your friend if you wanna go cheap but trust me engine out as a novice at the roadside is not funny just changed my btm end on a 95 wrx like this, if your better equipped or getting a garage to do it different story, the engines are quite similar throughout the classic series its the electrical and inlet manifolds that seem to change... IM NO EXPERT ! this is based on mix and matching bits from ebay....

find out where you are 1st......

kool cheers buddy,i only got yday,the guy i got it off had the cambelt replaced last week so hopefully if its that wat has gone rng it can go bak to the garage that replaced it,but ive got to get seen to to find out wat is wrng with it,my m8 is gna sort that bit out,i jus 4rt that putting a new engine wld be the quickest option for now.but i havnt a clue which 1 i need to get, thanks mate

take a cam cover off and see whats up with it. only 3 10mm bolts.

and engine out on a subaru has got to be one of the easiest things to do.

Can't you not quickly remove the cam covers to see the state of the cambelt, etc.?
