Oil an Coolant Levels...
Hi again,
Was just out checking all the fluid levels in the new motor and obviously checked the oil, it is wild low and needs some urgently, so tomorrow that will be sorted.
Question 1 : Is it ok to use Kwik Fit, I know that sounds like a child asking permission and it is obviously ok lol, but are they ok for an oil change, I know they don't use a Subaru filter, but in this case, an emergency does it matter?
Question 2 : When I was hoking about I seen a coolant reservior beside the battery, and it appears bone dry. To sort this do I just add coolant until it reaches the full line or do I need to do something else? Like does this need flushed, and refilled or is it ok to just blast it in there. I see Subaru state nly to use their coolant, can anyone tell me if there are alternatives?
Oh and should this be done, when the engine is hot or cold?
Thanks for all the help thus far

The answer to your Oil Change Qestion is NO - take it somewhere that knows what they are doing. They need to disconect the cam position sensor and ´dry crank´ it as part of the procedure.
Coolant - yes you can top up. But as it is a new purchase I would get all the fluids flushed and new stuff in there ASAP. Or at least test the coolant.
As the coolant is low - check the filler cap for signs of mayonase
Cheers

read first post again, it states "new car"
the tank your referring to for the coolant is the over flow tank anyway. its not where you fill the coolant. the tank you need to use is the one on the inlt manifold to the left as looking at it. check this one is full.
