which spools faster td05h or vf35?

Default which spools faster td05h or vf35?

been trying to find out which turbo would spool faster on wrx

at roughly what rpm would these turbos start to spool and at what rpm would they hit 1 bar

all help appreciated

I would imagine the ihi vf35 turbo would spool quicker as it is a roller bearing turbo.

The VF34 is the roller bearing turbo mate, the 35 is sleeve bearing, but IIRC the reason for its excellent spooling characteristics is that it has a very small exhaust housing (p15).

Next to the TD04, the VF35 is the next best thing in terms of boost threshold and response

yep, 34/35 spool is about the same, 34 peaks higher but tends to cost more to buy

MY mistake i thought all vf turbos were roller bearing?

jus wondering....as i've seen both the vf35 and td05h
the tdo5h has a slightly smaller turbine wheel than the vf35 from the looks of it....however they have a different number of fins

based on internet sites....seems the vf35 has a 0.51 a/r and the td05h has a 0.49 a/r

but i guess maybe design differences may play a part
