Decat need a remap ?

Default Decat need a remap ?

Hi i have a 1995 import WRX and am considering a decat pipe, if i fitted one of these would i need a re map to suit or would it still run safe without ?

it will be fine although to get the best out of it you would ideally need it remapped which involve a new ecu as the early ones arent mappable

yeah thats what i was hoping to avoid, just wanted to unleash a few extra ponies but did not want to risk damaging the engine

You could go for a sportsflow cat.. Same sort of power increase but will pass your mot.. Scoobyworld do a good one

you will get over boost after fitting the decat pipe. i fitted a boost controller until i got mapped keeps the boost at a safe level! but a remapp will be the best option
