The STi Version II is 275PS (271bhp). Can't remember the torque figure, but will be able to find out when I get in from work in half hour's time lol. This is the max the MY93-96 cars managed.

Did you get it remapped after doing those mods, BTW?

Thats probably on par with the mods, torque is only slightly higher than standard (and I mean only), not bad for a 14 year old car

I know that has shocked me tbh, Not remaped yet but will be chipped and mapped before long as its running rich atm.

Does that show a strong engine??

lol ok i get it now lol.

I was very impressed tbh.

where to go next mods wise. I bought her for hillclimbing so i was thinking of getting a boost controller with 2 settings not sure yet and get another ecu to map to 1.1/1.2 bar so in theory 1 ecu for road use and one for racing. unless there is an ecu out there that does all that and have a dash display so i can see all the figures such as oil temp, pressure, boost, etc and log it??

any advice??

trell, 280 for hill climb is overkill. get the car setup properly with good brakes and suspension an geometry. that will do more for you than any power hike will ever do.

Hard to get more torque than BHP from a 2 litre, a VF 35 will get you around 330 bhp, then your clutch will fail.....

Dad has a type ra with a vf on and that is 278bhp and 300 ft/lb .

i have an excedy clutch and pressure plate in it so i think as things go a new turbo, fmic and remap/ecu would see what kind of gains??

I have been under the impression that torque and bhp difference is all down to mapping. might be wrong but engines are are rebuilt the same waymetaphorically speaking. The person who is building my dads engine atm is forging it to take 480 ft lb but said to him that its in the mapping that determins the power or torque. and dads is a 2 litre.

so i am confused now lol

The 2.0L typically makes 0-10% less lb ft figure compared to the bhp figure.

The larger 2.5L usually makes a decent wedge more lb ft than the bhp.

All depending, to a lesser or greater degree, on turbo choice/supp mods and the way it been remapped, etc...

I dont doubt it simon. I have seen a couple of cars over here with a lot less horsepower win hill climbs and track races. Having said that they are stripped to within an inch of their life.

With the exception of the twin scroll units with equal length headers

What about running a restrictor on the inlet like the rally cars, should limit bhp to around 300bhp but allow for more torque if boost is turned up?
