So shes towed home waiting for me to rip the lump out. so im with myself but need to sus what im gonna need. Oil pump, main and bigend shells, timing belt. what are the chances of getting away with the thrust bearing?? what else am i likely to need?? my heads not in th right place right now!!

add a crank shaft to that, if its knocking the crank is knackered, you will also need a new modine, the trust bearing is part of the main bearing shells.

If the big end shells have spun, then add a set of rods to the above list.

You will need the following:
New Crank ( dont even think about re using your old one)
New Main and new big end bearings
New Oil Cooler modine
New Oil Pump

New Gasket set.

When you strip the lump down make sure you take off all the gallery plugs and give the block several thorough cleans.

Finally make sure all bearing debris is removed from the sump. This will require several attempts.

Depending on your budget now would be a good time to put some stronger internals in.

I have a nice set of STI V4 forged Pistons if you want them (shameless plug I know)
