If you intend to keep the fuel rails as OEM i.e. in series, you simply remove the OEM FPR from the end of the rail at cyl. no.3 (near the turbo). You then fit in its place a FPR adaptor (loads available on ebay) to attach the FPR to. Then the new FPR uses the existing tank return outlet line and vac line inlet (check the new FPR's instructions to identify which of its ports do what).

It's just a wholesale replacement for the OEM FPR (aside from that adaptor). You may have to extend the input and tank return lines though, as the FPR is bound to be too big to physically fit in the OEM space. You'll invariably have to mount it on the bulkhead, or inlet manifold, somewhere, and make sure its correctly orientated as per the instructions.

I've got the adaptor and a length of fuel hose to mount it up on the bulkhead, but mines a sard 3port fpr, one inlet, one gauge and one return port, it's where to jump the return in im comfussed with.

(1) Normally a 'true' 3-port has the tank return at the bottom, opposite the vac nipple at the top. The rail feed ports are at the left and right sides and the gauge fitting port on the front.

(2) A true 2-port has no bottom port, so the rail feed goes to one side and the tank return is the opposite side.

If you have an FPR as in (1), then the extra side port (used for true parallel dual-feed set-up) needs a petrol-tight threaded bung fitted in it. PTFE tape helps on all unions.

As joz says use the original return to tank.
Have a look and work out how the setup works before pulling it apart
