Default Up-pipe 2004 STI

Can anyone explain what the benefit is in replacing the uppipe on a STI 2004 Blobeye? If there is no CAT in the uppipe why change it?

If you are on the OE headers there is no point tbh.

On the STi it is only worth changing the uppipe if you fit tubular headers as above or get ported ones but you should be very careful selecting the uppipe as it has a big effect on performance.

My 05 STI had the up pipe changed, huge improvement!! Not performance wise, but i cured a evil rattle it had on the exhaust heat shield. Worked a treat.
