Default What's been chucked on my car?

Had a bit of a bad weekend. First i ran over a screw and had to buy a new tyre on Saturday, then either Sunday night or Monday daytime someone chucked what I think is paint stripper on the back of the car.

Who knows why, cant think of anyone ive pissed off, probably just jeaslousy but i wondered what it was that they put on it.

Photos are here......

The stuff reacted with the tail light almost like superglue and i had to use wet and dry to flat it off and then buff it up but the rest isnt so easy. The spoiler and bumper have bubbled right up but the metal bits havent bubbled but just gone dark asthough theyre stained, tried t-cutting and g3'ing them but theyre ****ed.

Even a few days later i can still get a bit of fluid out of the bubbles and it feels greasy but smells like sweet like screenwash or antifreeze. Anyone know of the affects of different things on paint? Likely to be stripper? brake fluid? something else?

Dunno what these people have got wrong with their heads

Neat antifreeze will do that if left long enough, also brake fluid, same result. loads of paint strippers on market that will do same job. gonna need painting mate

Mate, I feel for you. People who do that **** deserve their ***** to be slowly hacked off with a blunt rusty saw.... then some of what ever they put on your car dripped into the open wound.

Have you told the police?

thanks for the replies, yeah the police have been told but i guess theres nothing they can do realistically.

Got a price of £450 to do that including blend and laq on the rear quarter and a bump on the front that mysteriously appeared a couple of months ago so could be a LOT worse. Got the CCTV on order and will just have to keep it in the garage when I can.

Pity that a bunch of idiots have to cause so much inconvenience though. Thats life though i suppose! Just wish they had written a letter to tell me what their issue is rather than messing up my paint work, at least i woulda known what their beef was!

deffo brake fluid

we were striping a car in the garage and a guy pulled in in a classic RS turbo we told him to move it but he thought he was the man,,,,,,,,,,,,,
my brothers boy carryed on stripping the car he was doing and cut one of the brake lines and as he did he bent it to pull out of the car.......yup it still had a few ml left in the line and it sprayed out all across the guys bonnet

he was not best pleased and wanted us to paint it, we said we would out of good will if he bought the paint,,, hes not been back since

never knew brake fluid was so nasty, my old man is always telling me to be careful with it but thought it more of an old school thing and that modern fluids didnt do any damage, il be more careful next time im topping it up then. Suppose its ok if its cleaned off straight away, pity these guys didnt have that in mind.

All i can do is put it down to experience, whatever the reason behind it, random or not, you cant leave a car like that within reach of people like that. She stays locked away when unattended for the foreseeable future, might put a duvet in the garage for her too.

i thought if you put brake fluid on, it went through to the metal work and can't be resprayed.

it does go through to the metal if left log enough and if thats the case it needs to be flatted back to the metal primerd with a good primer then the panel sprayed,
