Default 6 Speed in a Classic (My00)

My Gearbox blew up on me last monday and im looking at the 6 Speed conversion as its a great box and can handle good power so should suit my car nicely.

i have just read something about the hubs etc will be needed as well.

is this right or is that only if the Diff is off a particular Year.

for Example would the full kit from a 2002-2005 Sti fit my car?

Gearbox. Prop. clutch. linkages. diff

i was under the impression to do the 6 speed i would need the above not the hubs etc.

my car is a UK My00 in that case what diff does mine have R160?.....

theres a firm doing gearboxes as strong as the 6 speeds (stronger than the ppg) in the vendor for sale section, i think its scooby clinic, they come in at 2250 i think and look pretty good if you want to keep weight down, depends on what you want tho.

Darc, what power/torque were you running, and for how long, until the box broke? Did it break when you were giving it beans at the time? On average how do you treat your gearchanges/clutch/box?

i would say 340bhp mate its been mapped a year or so with the mods i done and its seen 7-8 1/4 Drags and every other saturday it gets driven fast

i treated the box well but drove the car as it should now and then...

Hence the move to the 6 speed which will allow me to do the 2.1 Stroker or 2.5 Gt30 route.

also it went on normal (traffic) driving Second started making a noise then drove a mile or so then bang no second and hard to select other gears, it rattles like mad, untill i press the clutch in
